Considering the rise in population and the
city limits issue the Maharashtra state government has finally sanctioned the construction of "11 stored" high rise buildings in Kolhapur city. The decision taken by Shri Prithviraj Chavan
has been welcomed by CREDAI Kolhapur. Height restriction has been increased from the prior 21 meters to 35 meters.This will not only change the existing skyline of Kolhapur but also will help in reducing the existing flat rates. Such floor rise permission is granted to Kolhapur after Pune and Nashik
Such high rise towers must be provided with additional mandatory norms and features such as multiple lifts, two staircases (one regular & other emergency), waste water management, 15% of flat area reserved for balcony, special permission from the fire brigade for the floor rise and a minimum of 20,000sq ft (half acre) plot area with a 40ft road approach.
